The 1 lili National Conference of Cliarities and üorrcctions will be held at Omahii, Neb., August 15, 1887, and reiimin in scssion imtil August Bist. These niitional conferences have steadily ïncreaied in importance and usefulness. The one at St. Paul last year had over 450 delegates. All members ot boards of state charltief, all trustees and otlicers ot' all benevolent, charitable, penal and reformator}- instltutions, and delegates appolnted by the jrovernor of the state, are ex-offlcio raembers of the conference. AU persons interested in the work are la viteü. Contract labor, industrial education, fhild-s.-iviiiif work, schools for the defectivo classes, charity organization, our duties to the African and Indian race?, insanity, paiipcrism andcrime.their management, prevenlion and control, are among the matters to be considered and upon which papers will be read by those finincnt in the different branches, and these will be disenssed by those practicnlly engaged in the work. Kailroads between New York and Omaha will furnlsh return tickets for one tliird fare, nnd negotiations are pending for like tenus between points in MichigB and Chicago. Hotels will ftirnish redooed ratcs. It is hoped a large delefiation will be preeent from Michigan.
