[Probably the best answer to the above is the following condensation of the fish laws of the 8tate whlch we republish for the benefit of fishermcn : The followlng are the open seasons when it is lawful to take the kinds of fish mentioned : Ban - (Black, Strawberry, Green or White Bass) - Between March 1 and June 15 can be caught ouly by hook and line. Speckled Trout- May 1 to Sept. 1. Land-locked Salmón- May ] to Sept. 1. Grayling - June 1 to Nov. 1. California Trout - June 1 to Nov. 1. Speckled or Brook Trout or Qrayling can be caught only by hook and line, and It is unlawful to ratch in auy manner, or at any time, or hare in possession Brook Trout, Qrayling, California Trout, or Lind-locked Salmón of size less tli.-m six inches in length. Brook Trout or Grayling are not to be caught for the purpose of sale or suipment. Proof of possussiou of any lisli at any time when the catching is prohibited is made prima facie evidence of a violation of the law. The fine raries from ten dollars to one hundred dollars. It is unlawful to take orkill auy iish at any time by the use of any explosivo substance, or any substance or device whicli has a tendency to stupefy the tish. The spearing of any flsh is prohibited during the months of March, April, May and June, in any waters of the state, except Lakes Michigan, Superior, Huron, Saint ülair and Erle and Saginaw Hay. j It Is unlawful to flih with tiets, or ny other device for catching fish, within a radiusof three hundred feet of any iish shute or ladder, or dam to whicb it is attached; and it U also made unlawful to place thelr dama or weir-nets across any stream, in such a m inner as to obstruct Llie free passage of tlie Iish, or so as to extend a distsnce from the channel bank of more than one-thlrd the breadth of tho uiaiu channel.
