Tlie lecture of Dr. Vincent will be given Feb. 25. The ladies' readirg room lias a nuniber of new periodicals. The Glee Club will be " let off" a week before the close of the semester. The regent's meeting announced for Friday niglit, Feb. 3d, hus been postponed ontll the 17th. During the present month goiuetime memorial services will be held in honor of the late Dr. Palmer. The Argonaut will chose five new editora next Saturday in place of Moran, Perry, McBride, Sjöblom and Covert. Prof. Asa Gray the noted Botanist and Scientist of Harvard College, died at his home in Cambridge, Mhss., Monday night, aged 77 years. He was a natlve of New York, started out in 1834 as botanist to a government exploring expedilion, but left tliat place to assist in the or0anization of the University of Michigan. In 1842 he left here to accept the chair of natural liistory in the Harvard College, which he has ever since held. He had been a regent of the Suiithsonian Instituto at Washington fr a number of years. His death will leave a vacanev in blf special line of work, difflcult to flll. The Adriau Press gives the followlng noticeof the Glee Club concert: " Fifteen young gentlemen from the University Glee Club, were the regular star course attractlon last Friday evening. There were sevcral liue voices, notably the bass and tenor, and the singlng was generally good. The banjo quartette added much to the enjoyment of the occassion. As a College Glee Club, It is good, but not as excellent as one which appeared here some flfteen years ago. Their selections were in the main very eood but one or two could have beeu omitted and without detriment. The swüIIow tail coats were correct, the white shirt fronts faultless and Immense, and after the entertainment the singers speut a short time at the residence of Dr. Stephenson, and subsequcntly repaired to the bicycle parlors, wliere they enjoyed a hop, after the close of the dancing school, nmny of Adriau's young ladies being present to make it pleasant for thelr gUCStS." r THE GTM'S BOOM.
