The adjourned finnual meetinjr of the Washtenaw Co. Agrictiltural and Horlicultiir.il Society whs held ¦ceotaing to cali Kriday last, and there was a goodly andlence. Soine pplrited r.-marks wen made by Mensrs. (Jody, of L'ittstield, I. N S Foster, lüchmond, Muck, Nowland, Hamilton, of Ann Arborand Dell, of Saline, in reference to the propositmn of Mr. Israel Hall, to exchange grotinds, the prevaiüng opinión belnsr that tlipresent grounds were tar more valuahle than tbe proposcd new grounds, and that with the right Rort of t-plrit manifestad the Society could be successful In its present locatlon. Before a change was made the matter should be looked up more thoroughly at least, and it did njt matter so inucli how valuable the real estáte was, so long as C aiMWered the purposes for wliich it was devotcd. This was the general sentiment, togelher willi the opinión that the re was not cnnugli money offered in the exchange to inake it an object to trade. After the speaking it was moved and carried tbat Mr. Hall' proposition be imlefinitely postponed. A resolntion was also passed to the efl'ect that "the president, secretary and treasmer, are requested tosell the fair Rrounds for not less than 10,000, and in vest the proceeds in new grounds, provided they can clear the Society of debt on the new grounrts," the sale to be subject to the approval of the society at an annual nifctiiift. The time for Uo'.iIidi? the annual fair was fixed for the 25th, 26tli, 27th, and 28tli of September. The conclusions arrived at are prubably wise ones. The grounds offered by Mr. Hall are mnch farther away, and with no system of street cara or no way of reachliig the grounds except by walking or paylng 25 cents or more for hack or bus tare, the cuauge would be undesirable. The walk to the grounds now is as great as the majority of people care to take. Jntll the citizens of Ann Arbor wake up to the necesslty of better and cheaper passenger transportatlon than they at present enjoy, it is not wi?e to increase the distance to any objective points. At the close of the meeting action was taken in reference to raising the amount of the floating debt of the society by ("ubsoription, the responsibility of which had been shouldered on to Messi!".'Dean, Braun and Paul at a previous meeting. It is earnestly hoped that every one who can will glve something towardsliquidat iiiji the debf, and enable the society to pay the premiums of the coming fair in ful). Met-ting adjourned to the 21st day o May.
