The republlcan nominatlng convention for thlg county was called to order by Chairman Oiband, yesterday at the court house, Col. H. S. Dean belng called to the cliair, and Chus. H. Xestell, of Manchester, as ecretary. On mtion Messrs. II. D. Platt and Archie Wllkinion were appolnted tellers. On motion of W. K. Chlld?, Geo. 8. Wheeler, of Silem, was unanimously ndniinated for Judge of Probate. J. C. Knowlton placed in nnminatlon he name of Jacob Martin, of Ypsilanti, or the office of Sheriff, and he was uoinnated nnaniinously. A. M. Clark prepented the name of Martin F. Case, of Pittsfield, for the fflce of County Clerk, and he was seected therefor with one aocord. A. F. Freeman, of Manchester presnted tlic nimc of Jolin F. Lawrence, of Ann Arbor, for Prosecutintr Attorney, nd he unaiiiiinm.-ly nomimited. V n. K. Childs presented the nme of Albert Gardner, of Ann Arbor, for Uegstr of Deeds, and he was nominated unnlmoiuly. Wni. K. Tuomey, of Seio, was unanimously nominated for the office of treasurer. Fit Circuit Court commissioners, L. j. Mori.irty, of Ypsilanti, and Chas. H. Gine, of Ann Aibor, were nominated imniiiiously. For cornners Dr. W. P. Breaky, of Ann Arbor; and Krank K. Owen.of Ypsilantl, vere nominated. For Cou'ity Surveyor John K. Yocum, f Chelsea, was nominated unanimously. John F. The delegates for the flrst representave district assembled in the couticil room at the court house at "% o'clock. föhn F. Lawrence was called to chair, and Eyurt II. Scott made secretary. Alex. W. Hamilton and J. T. Jacobs were appointed a committee on crcdenials and reported delegates entitled to seuta. The name of Hon. Andrew J. Sawyer was presented to the conyention by A. V. Hamilton of tliis city and there béng no other ñames preented the rulos were suspended and he was made unanlmous choice of the conventton. A cjiumittee consisting of Jas. T. Honey, and [. N. S. Koster, were appointed to notify Mr. öawyer. The following gentlemen were chosen is a representative committee for the ensuingyear: Geo. H. Pond, of Ann Aror; Kmery E. Leiand, of Northlk'ld; Geo. H. Kempf, of Chelsea.
