About Film

WASHINGTON, D. C. — Ann
Arbor Police Chief Walter E.
Krasny and City Police Detec-
tive Lt. Eugene L. Staudenmaier
appeared, this morning before
the U. S. Senate Judiciary Com-
mittee considering the appoint-
ment of Abe Fortas to the chiet
justice position on the Supreme
i, Court.

Krasny and Staudenmaier
^were closeted with the commit-
|tee headed by Mississippi Sen.
•Tames Eastland for 21/2 hours
;ind an announcement on their
testimony about the film "Flam.-
img Creatures" was expected
! rater" today. The two officers
and Assistant Prosecutor
Thomas F. Shea were sum-
moned to Washington to testify
,on the seizure of the film on;

the University of Michigan
campus in 1967.
It was also expected the Ann;

Arbor men would show the film
lo the committee. Fortas voted
while a U. S. justice to reverse
a conviction of a defendant who'
had shown ^•r\ film and was
charged w exhibition of
obscene malei lal.

Shea did not make the trip
to Washington and Krasny was
named by Prosecutor William |
