A $739,800 contract for
the manufacture of peri-
scopes for a new Army ve-
hicle has been awarded to
the Argus Cameras Divi-
sion, it was announced
today.
Officials of the Army Ord-
nance District said in Detroit

Production of periscopes un-
der the new award will begin
on July 1 and continue through
February, 1962. The periscopes
will be used in the Army's

The local division received an
initial Army periscope order in
the amount of $943,000 on June

of 1,650 complete periscope
units plus spare heads.
A total of 1,509 periscopes
to be built under the new
award.

of Argus, said the new contract
will aid in steadying employ-
ment here.

Argus manufactures a va-
riety of 35mm still car
movie cameras, projector
