Ehrmann To Speak Monday Night On Axis Aims
Prof. Howard M. Ehrmann of the University history department will speak on “Some War Aims of the Axis" at a public meeting of the local Committee to Defend America by Aiding the Allies at 8 o'clock Monday night in the Rackham Building.
Officers of the local committee, a unit in a nation-wide organization, are Prof. Bradley M. Davis of the botany department, chairman, and Robert A. Duval, assistant to the University registrar, secretary-treasurer.
The meeting Monday will be aimed at enlisting additional members for the committee.
A Committee for National Defense was the forerunner here to the chapter of the Committee to Defend America by Aiding the Allies. The first committee consists of 12 members who have been meeting regularly on Saturday noons in the Michigan League.
These members are Prof. Arthur S. Alton, Dean Henry M. Bates, Prof. Arthur E. Boak, George J. Burke, Commander William A. Faust, J. G. Hays, Prof.-Emeritus William H. Hobbs, James Inglis, Prof.-Emeritus Edwin C. Goddard, Dr. Robert H. McDowell, Col. Henry C. Miller and T. R. Peirsol.
