Clark, Wayne LeRoy
Ypsilanti, MI
Age 65, died peacefully at home with his family by his side on September 26, 2000 after a brave battle with cancer. He was born May 11, 1935 in DeQuion, IL, the son of Owen and Iva Clark. Wayne was united in marriage to Suzanne Elliott on August 26, 1978. He retired from the City of Ann Arbor in 1994 after 26 years. Wayne served in active duty for the United States Army from 1953 until 1966, and after his Honorable Discharge he served in the Reserves and retired from National Guard in 1992. He was a member of the American Legion in Ypsilanti, a lifetime member of the American Hunting Club, and a former member of the Ypsilanti Moose Lodge. Wayne loved hunting, fishing, bowling, and golfing. He was loved very much by his wife and family and will be dearly missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; his children, Diana (Akram) Noureddine of Dearborn, Wayne (Dawn) Clark Jr. of White Lake, Vicki (James) Gatewood of Livonia, Tamela Lee of Ypsilanti, and Kathy Johnson of Ypsilanti (who was like a daughter to him); ten grandchildren, Majdoline, Ali, and Hassane Noureddine, Crystal Clark, David, Derek, and Donovan Dean, Shelby Gatewood, and Kaitlin and Raven Lee; and longtime friend, Pete Bedolla. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2000 at MUEHLIG FUNERAL CHAPEL with Reverend Edwin Eliason officiating. Interment will be held at Arborcrest Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5-9 p.m., Friday 1-3 and 5-9 p.m. Those wishing, may make memorials to Hospice of Washtenaw or to the American Cancer Society.
