Solotnon said, rnany centuries ago : "even a child is known by his doings, whether his üork ba pure, and whether it be right." Some people seem to think that chil dren have no character at all. On the contrary, an observing eye sees in these young creatures the sigua of what they aae likely to be for lii'e. When I see a boy in haste to pend every penny as soon as he gets it, I think it a sign that he will be a spendthrift. When I see a boy or a girl always looking out for him or herself, and disliking to hare good things with othere, I think it a sign that the child will grow up a very selösh person. When I sse boye and girls ofUn quarreling, I think it sign that they will be violent and hatefnl men and woinen. When I see a littl boy vvilling to taste strong drink, I think it a sign tbat he will be a drunkard. When I see a boy who never attends to the services oí religión, I think it a sign that he will be a profane and proflígate man. When I see a child obedicnt to his purents, I think it a eign of grsat íuture blessing. And though great changos sornetimes take place ,in the character, yet as a general rule thee signs do not fail.
