That opin.on will be sufSciently ex pre8sed by stating that if I were a voterin the Sta;o of' Indiana, and beüeved there was no probability that Bell could oarry th State by ita popular vote, then I would unhasitatingly give my vote for Douglas; and I should do this, thinking that theroby I periormed my duty as a 'true Union' man, and rendred both 1o my country and to Bell and Everett, the candidates of my choice, the best sarvice that ciroumatanees permiited me to do.
