Capt. Morrison, of the reverme cutter Lewis Cass, bas sont his resignation to the Treasury Department at Washington, and aeknowledges that he has surrendered his vessel to the State authorities of Alabama. It will be secn by the followingorder that no resignation under such circumstiinces will be aocepted. Capt. Brushwood's will no doubt be disposed of in the same way: Treasuut Department, ) Washington Feb. 11. J. J. Morrison, of Georgia, a captain in the reverme service of the United States, late in command of the Lewis Cass, having in violation of his official oath and of his duty to the General Government, surrendered his vessel to the State of Alabaina, it is hereby directed that his name bo stricken from the rolls of said service. By order of the President of the United States.
