Bennet, a professor ol sume celehnty, considers it an invaluable article of diet, and aacribes to it very important módica] properties: 1. That the tomato ia one of the most powerful aporients of the Materia Medica, and that in all those affections of the liver and organs where calomol is indicated, it is probahly the most effective and loast harmful remedial agent known to the profeaSioD. 2. That a chemical extract will be obtained from it which will altogether npersedo the use of calomel in the cure of dÍ8aase. 3. That he has suceessfully treated diarrheea with this article alone. 4. That when used as an article of diet, it is almost a soveraign remedy for dyspepsia and indigestión. 5. Thatthecitizensin ordinarj'shonld make use of it, eithttr raw, oooked, or in the form of a cataup, with their daily food, a it is the most healthy article in tbe materia a imeneari.
