The Louis v Ule Journal says: "It is quite evident tliat McClellan has not been planning his (poiations to suit thc Cont'ederates. - They wanted him to como out and 6ght at Washington, and set Washington against Manassas. He refused to run a queen against a pawn. He has followed up a igantie scheme that is plain now as it begins to be executed. Instead of doing nothing, he has been maturing a series of operations which will crush rebelüou like an egg-shell, whilst they bave b:en nursing an empty oonceit of their prowess and skill."
