Chicago, Marcli o. A special to the Tribune from Cairo says : " The steamer Isette frora the Tennessee Uker yesterday reporta that as the gunboats Tyíer and Lexington accompanied by the transport Isetto were approaohing Pittsburg eiglit miles abovo Savannah on thc Tenncssee Itiver, they werc fired upon by a battery located on a bluff over-lookiiig the river. The gunboats replied for half an hour with shot and sliell. At the expiration of that timo the battery was silenced, and a forcé of eighty marines only landed, burned ono house and visited one of the Confedérate campa. They were attacked again by a. large forcé of rebels, and oompelled to return to the boats. Our loss was one killed and three missing. The officers of the boat ropresent the existence of a strong Union sentiment in that vicinity. At the election in Savannah for Sheriff, on Saturday, the Union ticket received three hundred and twenty votes and the secession forty-five.
