St. Louis, March 10 The following is an official dispatch : To Mnjor-Genral McClellan, Washington : The artny of the Southwest, under General Curtis, after threo days' hard fighting, has gained a most glorious vietoiy over the combined forcea of Van Dorn, McCulluch, Priee and McIntosh. Our loss in killed and wounded ia estimated at 1,000; that of the onemy is still larger. Guns, llaga, provisions, etc, were captured in large quantities. A special to tho Missouri Repúblicas, says : " A messenger who arrived this tnorniog at ihreo o'cloek, reports that the batlle lasted from Thursday morning till Saturday evenini;, and that our loss was about tour bundred killed and wounded. The rebel loss was about one thousand killed and one thousand taken prisoners. Among them is Col. McRea, of an Arkansas regimont. "The attack was ruado from the north and west, our array bcing completely surrounded. VanDorn, Price, McCulloch, and Mclntosh were present ! with about 25,000 inen. McCulloch and Mclntosh are reportad mortally wounded. " The attack from the rear was made by McCulloch, and met by Sigel, who woundud him, and his corps ecattered in wild confusión. " We have also captured a large amount of stnres, teams, cannon, small anns and ammunition."
