Battle Near Winchester
Washington, March 23. Wc have achievcd a glorious victory over the combined forces of Juckson, Srnith and Longstroet. The baltic was fought within four miles of Winchester, from hulf-past ten this A. M., until d:irk. The eneiny uumbered about 15,000; our force was not over 8,000. The enemy's loss is doublé tbat of ours. We cíiptured a large nnmber cf prisonerá. The ground is strewti with their muskets thrown awav in flight. - Our cavalry are still pursuing tho tlying rabcls. Parttoulars ennnot be ascertained tül to-morrow morning, Winchester, Mareh 24. Iiï consequence oí the fnnvard movement of our army we could not get a correct list of the killed and wounded. Our lm is irnm 80 to 100 killed ; nraona; them are one Colonel und fourteen Captains and Lieutenants. Two b und red and twenty wounded, atnong them ten officers. The enemy had nearly 500 killed and wounded, and 300 prisODers.
