Groat Salt Luko City, Juue 16. A band of persons num bering 1,000 men, women and cliildren, under the leadership of one Morris, who claiiucd to be t.hc Prophet Mosus, reuppearcd on carth, formed a scttloment tliirty miles uortli of tliis city, and committed' numer ous deprcdations upon citizons in tlio vicinity. Tht'y rcfuscd to labor at all for thcir support, believing the Lord would supply their wants. Three of thetr nuinber, disgusted witli tlio imposition, :ittempted to leave and were arrested, placed in coufinement, andbeavily iioued. A writ of liabeas corpus was i.s.sued by Cliief Justico Kinney, which was trealod with cou tempt. Suffieient time liavin elapsed for the produotion of the prisoners, a second writ, together with an order for the arrest of the leaders of tiie gang fot falso imprisonment, was issuud. For tlio cxecution of thcso, a posse of Uvo lniudrcd and fifly infantry and urtilliiry weve ordered out on the llth by Actmg Governor Puller. The prisoners ciptured nuuiber one hundred and fortyseven, and will be brought beforo the court to-morrow.
