The Htitimateil cot of ooaatruo'.ion rom Sacramento to the State line, 140 nÜHs, is $12,380,000. Thulength oí' the road from Sacra lento to Counoil Bluffs will be 1858 piles; the eatimatod cost 899,870,000. Mr. Juduh, after careful inqüiry, is onvinced Ihat a railroad on this route tn be kept opon for the eulire year for ,he transuction tf bunino.s. lie ha ound the gronteat duptti ot undisturbed iidw it tho summit in thirtuan fuct. - ho dopth is not tho result of a single 'orra, but tht; aucuinulaüoQ of nuccosive itorma, ocöarriag during ths win;er. Tho depth iaüiiig in liitifjle itocnjs nging trom eightoen iuchey to thre r f'our teet. -Tho snow line is about 25 miles, and aliaost excluaively a gide óll line, from which tho snow oan be more oasily removed than from a level urface. Tho Placervillè wagon road s kept open for travel thö entir Ínter, íioteis are estublishod every 'ew miles aiong tbe route. 'f hegoveruuiGnt donatos to the com:any, overy altern.ito seotiou, not sold, en miles ouch sida of tho road, a free right of way to n strip 400 füet in width across ail governrtiant lands. It gives also 0,000,000 Unitod Status bonds. Tho estimutüd receipts on the western part, í'rorn Sacramento to Truokeo river, taking tbü stuge reooipt od the same route as abatís, is 8-1,054,240; expenso oí operating $1,000,000 - a profit of 24 ))er cent on a cost of $15,300,000. An investigation shows thit over fiee millions of dollars are p:.iü eau'n year for froight doae by téain tu the Washoe mina Tlii.s businesa iriJ] be translerred to the roud, whsn oponed, Theao are nomo of the local sonrces of revenan on the woKtern portions. - JJetween Gouftcil Bluti's and the T;ritorv ol Colorado there already exista a large passenger and freigbt buninefi., by stage cimch atid team, nnd the trade with Utah, Idaho and the other 'J'erritories would be no inoonniderable itom. Add to thusa llie throngh business, for which thö road s to bo raainly built, and there can be qo douhc thut it will be one oí the most sucoesníul and profitable publiü eoterprmejs of the age. Alany fino opportui)it03 will be offiTed ior profitable investment at different points along the routo.
