-Uuring the short time this fine regi. ment has been in our city they have demonstrated that there is no better disciphned regiment in the service. Thej have proved theniselves worthy of the ' many flattermg encomiums showered upon them by the Generáis under whose observation thoy have como at different times. The Twenty.-fifth has an enviable reputation, and they know how'to preserve it. The officers of the regiment iroughout are perfect gentlemen, and t ie brotherly feeling that exists between them accounts in a great degree for the excellent discipline of the men under them. The soldiers fairly idolize thoLr omcers, aud tbis devotion is heartily raciprocated. It matters not, whcre w& moet a company er squad of the Twentyütth, there U a]ays-the same good order and gentlomanly deportinent evinced. Hor some time past a eompany has been stationed opposite the office of the Provost Marsbal, during the day, to answer, we suppose, any contingency that might cali for their services, and the orderly manner inwhiclr they coDduct themself from one day to another is a subject of general remark, and has not failed te wmiuand the admraton of our citizeDs. Wehavu frequently stood and watchetf the handsome aud soldier like movements. of a squad or eompany on the street, and we havo often obgerved that the gazo of others besides ourself were riveted on them till they disappeared. Col O N Moore, Licut. Col. Orcott, and Maor V. ü. iiteh are entitled to great credit for the excellence of the Twenty-fiftB Michigan, and they have good reason U feel proud, as they do, of theis bravo boys. J hey have made an iaipressioa on our eitizens that will always be favorably remembered.
