The sessions are open to the public. This body is composed of the Rectors of Parishes and Lay delegates, not exceeding three from bach Parisb. JgJgT1 By reference to condensed proceodings of Board of Supervisors n another column, it will bb seeo tbat Robert MoOoll, Republican, was electod Chairman. This was really done on the first ballot, Robert McOoll having 12 votes, McOoll 1, and James H. Morris 11, but both Republicana and Demócrata being taken by surprise, and thinking somobody had made a mistake, another ballot was ordered, on which McOoll received 12 votes and Morris 11, and one man didn't vote. - McColI was, of course, dclared elected. Wo do not know who sold out, or what price was paid, and f wo did might not teil now ; but it would have looked niuch better ior this last edition of a " compromiser " to have voted a few times for the ' Democratie caucus - or at least once - and allowed his fellow Öemoorats toaid him in judging when a " compromise " was necessary. It had a bad look to go over to the Republicana " body and breeehes " at so early an hour, and, perhaps, the constituents of the ikedaddler may not relish the joke, and may reserve a " spot " for the man when they can identify him.
