Killed May 9th, 1863, at the Battle of the Narrows, Corporal Cornelïus 6. Lyons, Co. H, 20th Mich. Infantry. Headquabtebs Co. H, 2Oth Reg. Mich. 'Inf 1 May 19th, 1863. The following Resolutions were unanimously adopted by Co. H, 20th Mich. Infantry. Whekeas, Providcnce has taken from our number, while eugaged in the late battle, Corporal Coruelius Gr. Lyons, therefore, Resolved, That while we submit to that Will which " ordereth all things well," we have iost one whom we not only lionored as a patriot and a Boldier, but one too, whom we respeoted and loved, loved as oue in whose conduct and bearing towards his fellow-soldiers, was always recognized the genuine charactenstics of a brave and noble manhood. Resolved, That when tried as a soldier he was not found wanting, but feil whilo fearlessly charging on the cnetny in that unequal contest whero lus part ïiad been so courageously performed. . Resolved, That we deeplv 'sympathize with his bereaved fatnily. May she who now mourns the loss of a husbaud be sustained in her trial bv the arm of One on whom the mourner can never lean in vain for support. Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be forwarded to the wife of the late Corporal Lyons. Resolved, That the above Preamb'e and Resolutions be forwarded with a re quest for publication, to the Ann Arbor papers
