The Soldicrs' Aid Society of this city will hold an Old Folks' Festival at Hogers' Hall, on Friday, June 19th, 18G3. It is proposcd to bavo a table of refreshnieots coniposed of dishes that our grandmotbers were in the babit of preparing for tbeir guests. All patriotic ladics of the town and county are invited to contribute. We givo a list of sucb dishes as we bavo tbougbt of. We hall be glad to have the assortment varied by guch additions as tbe donors may wish : Pork and Beans, Pies - Pumpkin, Gingerbread, " Minee, Doughnuts, " Custard, Oorn Bread, " Apple, Pound Cake, Raised Biscuit-large, Popped Corn, Baked Custard, Caraway Cookies, Hard boiled Eggs, Boiled Ham, Iloast Chiekens, Koast Pig, Koast Turkey. It is also proposed to bave a tablc of ice creatn. The occasion will be made intere.iting by a few eostumes of tbe olden time, by somc ancient singing, and by an exhibibition of old-fasbioned spiuning wheols. We have secured tbe services of several ladies who know bow to spin on tbe large t heel, and we hope some of our (ierman friends will show us the ancient meibod ofspinningflas witb a distaĆ­Fand spindle. Admittanee, for adults 25 cents, for childreu 10 cents ; Old Folks' table 25 cents, ice-creain extra. Doors open from 2 P. M. to 10 P. M. A. A. Ormsby, Sec'y. EP Marshal Martin has erved a notice on us to repair the sidewalk in front of our prewises. One plank was found turned up and shall be turned down iiriined-iately. From the papers in the Marshal's hands we conclude that the Counoil has determined on a general iniprovement of the walks of our city, and we hope that the orders will be obeyed. L3g" We regret to hear from various portions of the county that the wheat erop is looking badly, and is not likely to fulfill the promises of a few weeks aso. The damage is charged to account of the insect.
