J5P3 It is reported that Vallandigiiam bas mado liis escape from the Southern Confederacy in a vessel bouud for Nassau, from which port it is supposed ho vrill for Canada. JjJgT' Tho Sixteonth Michigan Infantry is reported as having had a skirmish with tho rebels on the 23d, losing tweuty mon killed and wounded. - Capt. Mott reported mortally wounded ; Lieut. Cook,soverely in tho thigh; Sorgcant Hilton, badly. Capt. Mott and Lieut. Cook are both well known to our citizens. L3" Miss Jenison and her pupila have had on exhibition, during tho week, in Eogers' Hall, alarge and fine oollection of Paintings - over 80 in number. Among ihein were finely executed copies of Cole's Voyage of Life, the Yülage ]ïlacksmith, a full-sized and roally fine copy of Nydia, landscapes, portraits, nte. Theso painüngs bespeak Miss Jenison an excellent artif-t and teacher. We regret that :v largor numbor of our citizons have not done themselves the pleasure of visiting the collection.
