At a meeting of ei tizón at the Court House, on Thursday evening; the i20t.li instant, for the purpose of hearing the report of the Committ.ee appointed to expend tho fond raised for tho rclref of woundedund sick soldiere f rom Michigan, on motioD ot' J. Lawson, Hon. D. Me Intyre was ohoson Chairnian, and Samuel Grisson eleeted Seeretary. P, Bach, one of the Cotnmittec, submitted tho following report, whieh, on motion, was aceepted : To amount reeoived on suWription, $1027 25 By amount expended by Rev. J. Gregory, $208 00 By amount expended by Mr. Botsford, 150 00 By amount for printing, 4 50-362 50 Balance on hand, $064 75 John I. Tuompuon, moved that ono hundred dollars, now in tlie hands of the Comniittco, be refunded to tho Ann Arbor Soldiers' Aid Society, it being the amount so libera lly granted by tho same to the fund. Pending th is inotion, it was proposed that persous present bo requested to express their views in regard to the disposal of aaid fund, and the questiou how to expend it to the best advantage, was ably diacussed by Her. Mr. Day, Mrs S. Lawrenee, the President of tho Ann Arbor Aid Society, the Chairman, S. Abel, I.ieut. Eudford, J. I. Thompson, and a strange eentlemari. The inotion w.as then enrried. Mr. Abel moved that a comniitteo of three be appointed to draft a constitution and by-laws for a Soldiers Relief Society tobe reported at a future meeting. After a further discussion, Rev. Mr. Day moved as an amendment to the resolution of Mr. Abel, that the same be laid on the table till information of the aetion of the Sanitary Committee soon to be held at Chicago, was received, whieh was lost, when the original resolution was earried. S. Abel, P. Baeb, and J. M. Gregory were appointed said committee. Mr. W. Hateh, offered the following resolution, whieh was adopted : Resolved- That the thanks of this meeting are due to the Rev. Mr. Gregory and Messrs. Botsford f.nd Goodale for thcir services, so generously atid judi-' eiously reno!éred to the wounded soldiers from this State, in expending part of the money raiscd for that purpose, by the citizens of Ann Arbor. The meeting adjourned till the lOth of September next, at the samo piare and at the samo hour. Aug. 20th, 1803.
