In'y, ) keak Jonesboho, Oa., Sopt. ö, '64. ) At a meeting held fcy the otlicers of the Tenth Regiment, Michigan Vetaran Volunteer Infantry, the followiag resohitions vere unanimoósly adopted : Whekeas, On the first instant it pleased the Supremo Commando of the universe to remove from our miiet aú rank, mauy Of oar ofBcers, non-ommissioned ofh'cers and privates, and whereas, we desire topayajust tribute of respect to the meniory of the depaited, therefore, Resolved, Tliat in Oie loss ef llajor Henry Uurnett, the Government bas lost one of the best offlcers !n the service. Hisfossto the Regiment is irreparable. His cooluess and courage on many a tiying occasion has inspired in all entire coufidence. His uniform tffable and gentleiuanl'y deportlnent had endeared hini toall ab a compauion and friend. In the loss of Captain Iï. H. Nims, the Service, and Reghuent iarticularly, is deprived of another extellent oflicer, and devout fiiend.
