-Save the Bushes For severa! years p;',Bt, thu currant bushes have been nearly destroyed by nuinerous ernüll worms whioh divest them of their foliage. As the egga from which these vrorms spriug are deposited on the underside oí the ieaves, the first iadication of their ravages wül be observed by many sinall holes eaten througli, and the minute worm niay be seen the holes larger. The has been ncouetorned to tprinkle powdered white hellebore on ihe bushes, which is an infa'.lib'le rèmedy, as it düstreys the' worm in a few minutes, aod will cft inj-uro the currant buihea in the least. White helieboro can be obtaiued at most drug stores, in a powdered state, at a few cents per ounue. To sprinklo it on bushes, put about Uto tableppoonfulè into a pepper or flour box, and sprinkls it flghtly all over the oulside leaves. Thvn tuin Up the bushes and scatter a sujall quantty in the middle of them. Let it be spread as thiaiy as practicable, as a quantity so srnall that it can not be perceived with the naked eye, will check the ravage?. In the ppring' oj X864 our gooseberry busho wera stripped of every leaf, and all the branches wero literally covered with full sized worms. We sprinkled thero lightly with white hellebore ; and in less than two hours every worm feil to the grouod dead. Great care must be exorcised in handliiig the heüebore, as a BDiall uuuntitv will produce violent Bneeziug. -
