From tlie C'ourior dos Etata L'nig, Sept. 8. Wc havo receivcd frora Washington the following disputch : Tho Mcxican question was di.scussed at tho Capinet meeting held on Tuesday, and vvhich was presided over by President Johnson. All the members present expressed themselves favorable to the etatu quo except Mr. Harían, Secretary cf the Interior, who desired that Juárez should 'at least be iadirectly snpported. Quito a lively . scène took place batween Mr. ' Seward and Mr. Harían, tho Promier telling Mr. liarían that ho sacrificed the truo interests of the country to the love of vain popularity; that it was uot dignified for thia Government to aid Juárez indirectly, and that it was not advantageous to support him openly. President Johnson iully agreo vvith tho views of the Secretary of State, nnd deolared that he rogrotted the speech of Mr. Harían made Borne tiniu since in public; and that rnombors of the Cabinut ouglit nevor to forget that their words are ulways construed sis having been inpired by the Governmynt. He would loso no o)portuuiLy to disavow any such incon6derato spotches the same as he had disavowed Sheridan's views by reducing his army two thirds. Mr. Johnson, nhen tho meeting waa about bi'üakiug up, said that he would not determine on a lixed policy towards Mexico before tho meeting of Congress, vvheu ho would discuss in his message whatever might soem best for the couutry. It is evident that the President is aniiuated by the samo pacific feelings as Mr. Soward and the majority of the Cabinet. If it is Irue that Juárez has evacuated Chihuahua, and is obliged to take reiuge in the Uuitod States, tho resumptiun of olEcial relations 'vith Mesico will be couslderably facilitated.
