Oa examination, we found that a quantity of lime, whicb had ac'idental)y been spilied and rendercd worthltss by bccoming mixed aith the ref'use on tho stable floor, had been thrown at tho foot and around the tree, and to this as the principal cause, ve immediately accredited the reviveseence and renewed fructifioation of the tree. 'Tuking the hint f rom the incident, vro purohnsed 12 casks of limo, and applied half a bushei to each of the trees in our orchard, and found that it produced immedi;itc heneficial efftcts. Not the health of the tree n!y, but the quality of the fruit also, was greatly mproved.
