On Thursday of last week a very remarkabla and terrible case of poisoning occurred at Teil City, Perry County, resalting in the death of a woman, and the serious illuess of a little boy ten. years of age. On the next d.iy (Thursday) Mr. Friant do termined to open her and examine as to the causo of her death, suspecting she had been poisoned. Ho called to hú assistnnee Iris wife, a little boy of ten years, and Mr, Joeeph Sporcey. Upon cuttiiig open the panrieh of the cow small pitice of pewter and a silver npoon was found in it ; and each of tho parties named pushed thcir hands toto the puunch and feit atnong its contents for other pioces of the spoons than Ihose aiready found On Fiiday morning, whon the persons arose from bed, they found their hands and arms much Bwollen aud brokon out with large red bintehes. The swelling continucd to rapidly incrcaoe and spread nutil it covercd the cntiro upper part of the bodicH oi tho vietims. Medical assistance wsis sumuioncd, and evorything pos8Íblo done for the reiicf of puffcrers, hut all was ot no avail. Mr. Jm-kiih died on iSaturday, Mr. Sporcey on Sunday, and Mrs. Friant was still dangerously ill on Tneeday, and it was thoaght would die. Tïie little boy was out of danger at last accounts. The physieians gave t ns their opinión that tlie unf'ortunate victima took the poison from the cow's paunch into their systema by absorption, as there wns no abrasure upon the Skin of oitherof thcin.
