The Council met in adjourned session Monilay evening, Octobcr 20. rresent: Mayor, Recorder, Aldermen Dow, Deubel, Growman, Leiand, Lutz, Mclntyre, and Porter. The bond of E.B. Pond, City Treasurer, made in the Bum of $80,000, with A. Felch, E. Wells, Phil. Bach, Henry W. Rogers, John N. Gott, and J. W. Knight, as sureties, was received and approved. The City Engineer presented four maps, one for the First, one for the Second, and two for üie Third wards, which, together with his report, were ordered filed in the proper office. Committee to settle with ex-Treasurer Webster made a report, which was accepted, but afterward referred back for further report. The report showed balance duo the city oí $1,404.05, which stands to the credit of the following f unds : To General f und, - G8 63 Street 184 06 FireraoiiB' " - - - 19 18 Well .... 52 :7 Tower and Bell fund, - 3 10 Cemotery fund, - - - - 3 29 Medical College Bond fund (unp'd ut.), 70 00 First ward fund. - 162 82 Fourth ...... 118 79 Fifth " ".-- IS 02 Sixth " " - - - - 16 2C 11,664 32 Second ward fund overdrawn, 861 76 Third ' 98 51 160 27 Balance, 1-404 05 Report from Recorder relativa to city indebtedness was received and ordered placed on file. It showed the bonded debt of the city as follows : Medical College bonds, due Feb. lst, '71, $10,000 Interest on same, 700 übservatory bonds, due March lst, '74, 3,000 Interest on same, 210 Total, bonds and interest, $13,910 Froposals were opened for grading and paving al ley from Washington to Liberty street, east of Main, and estimates of assessments presented. Contract was ordered let to J. Eitelbuss, provided he fumish sufficient security for completing the work within 30 days. A aidewalk was ordered on the east side of aouth Thayer street, and a petition for a sidewalk five feet wide on the west side of Fifth street, from the north line of Washington to Detroit street, received and reforred to sidewalk cemmittee.
