A Staghound Following A Buck To Sea

During the recent cauip hunt at St. James Island, by soine of our citizens, an incident occurred, whichis, perhaps, without a parallel in the annals of bunting.and deserves to be recorded. A large buck, closely pursued by that fatnous staghound, Old Ring, belonging to Mr. Hopkins, took water, and headed right out to sea ; the dog, without any hesitation, boldly followed him on bis voyage over the " dark and treauherous waves." They were watched with intense interest by the hunters until each was a mere speek upon the surface of the sea, and until they were finally and totally lost to view.
