Havajía, Veh. 17. - A heavy engagement has taken placo in the central department, of whieh Havana journals giva the followiug account : Gen. Bascónos, with 3,000 menandfour pieces of artillery, attackod the main i'orco of the iusurgont8 near Maranjo. The latter were 5,000 strong, under Marquis Santa Lucia, the Cuban Ooininander-in-Chief. Tho battle lasted seven hours and resulted in a success for Gen. Bascones. The Spaniards lost 00 killed and 180 wounded. The robels took no prisonors. Their loss is not given. The insurgents in tho central department are setting tiro to t'arm-houses in all directions. Gen. Burricl has sailed for Spain. The Exeeutive Committee of the Michigan Soldiers' and Sailors' Association met at Jackson, Tuesday. Measures were adopted to notify soldiers throughout the State, and urge their presente at the rounion in Jacksou, April 9, Adinission to the banquet will be about $2.
