S., Miss L. Brown, L. H. S., Miss Beldon, W. I. G., G. H. Francis, W. O. G., E. M. Fenton, W. M., G. E. Sanford, W. D. M., Miss A. Bibbins, W. C, O. Collier, W. S., C. Galpin, W. A. S., H. C. Selieck, P. W. C. T., , "W. T., N. Arksey, W. F. S., J. M. Colé. The Manchester Journal of last week ha the iollowiug : A gentleman well known. and wlio resides net a thousand miles from this village, aud oí a " Grange " persuasión, consideriug the D. H. & L E. E. Co. under obligations to him addressed the managing man of that road, Mr. TJhl, the íoJlowing poetical note, which explains itself : " You know, my dear Ed, Like a eommon dead-head, 1 desire to ride on your rail, Don't think me an ass, If I ask you the pass To send me soon, by the mail." The following reply came in due time , and we defy any one to beat it : " Dear Mr. : " It's not at all strange, Being one of a ' Grange,' You should advocate cheap transportaron ; But stick to your rules, And drive your own mules - Ask favors of no corporatiou."
