The City and town oleetion held throughout the State on Monday last, show. Democratie gains wherever politioal lines were drawn ; but in many places so side issues were introduced that there is literally no politioal signifioance to bo discerned in the result. Prohibition tickets, temperance tickets, reform tickets, union tickets, etc, wore numerous, showing a commendable tendency to waive the ordinüTy political issues in local elections. Anothor week we may give a list of Mayors, classed as the looal papers class them. - The Detroit Pont siniles out of tho wrong corner of the mouth, cites Adrián, Coldwater, ete., and ovirte ntly foars that the temperanr.o crusade will be th& ruin of the Repablican party.
