From the Detroit Free Press. MONDAY EVESINQ, Aug. 17. The total receipts for the last two weeks were as follows ; For the week ending Aug. 17. Aug. 10. Through State. Thro. State. Horses 50 1 Cattle 2,334 535 2,054 473 Hgs 10,088 2,219 9,621 2,404 Sheep 17 cars. 180 9 cara Keceipts were a trifle heavier than the previous week, but there was a liboral demand at the inside rates last giren for cattle and sheep and l-4c better on hogs. Among the sales noted wre 21 cattle, averaging 978 lbs, at 5c ; 7 big steers, averaging 1,050 lbs, at $40 a head ; 1 cow, 1,000 lbs, for $35 ; 6 little butchers' cattle at 18 to Y20 a head. Of sheep there wera 40 sold averagmg 90 lbs, at '4.75 ; 26 sheep, averaging 78 lbs, at $4.2,). Of hogs 84 small, averaging 144 lbs, at $ó.7' ; G7, aventging 16!) Ibs, at 6. J CATTLE. J Fair offcriiiga were noted to-day, rather an increase over last week, but the domand was fair, particularly for choice cattle. Common qtialities were slow, quite a nuniber were held over.
