The Kalamazoo üazelie says: The practice of improper interfurence with the private affairs and personal rio-ht of the people iu a raarked feature of the ltepublican party. The recent Congressional gag law is of this sort. It is un infamous attempt to gag the public press of the United States. President Grant aftyroved the infanons bill. It was to hia liking. To rule by forcé, and not legislate according to the wishes and interests of tho public, is peouliarly Grantiah as well peculiarly ltepublican. This gag law íb one of the most un-Deinocratic of the inany corrupt, unconstitutional and infamous measures of the prest;nt corrupt liepublican party. The press has exponed Grantisrn and the mal-administration of the liepublican party so ofteu that the rascáis who rule it have become alarmed, and the Congressaional gag law is the meaus they adopt to muzzle the pres, hoping to shut lts raouth and prevent it from exposing Kcpublican corruptions and villaimes. It takes 373,958 cara and 1 4,1(3!) locomotive engines to run the railroads ia the United States and Canada.
