An Ingenious Convict
The Boston Journal saya that Frank Lowry, a convict who is serving out life seutence at the Charlestown State Prison tor murder, and who has beretofure displayed considerable ingenuiíy in the use of a couimon jack-knife in fashiouing curiosities, has just corapleted another, which eclipses any of his previous cfforts. It is in the shape of a miniature museum, tnouuted upon wheels, and contains fifty four views or scènes, each one of which contains from one to ten minia ture figures, representing all classes of society. The scènes are designed to illustrate the career of one Edward Glitton, a "fanious California outlaw, drunkard and murderer," and the views represeut him iu almost every conceivable situation in a life of crime. It is, iu fact, the"Roadto Ruin," illustrated with miniature figures. The scènes are mostly viewed through glass, and are illuminated from the interior of a curious piece of mechanism.
