From the report of Sheriff Fleming to the Secretary of State, for the year ending Oct. lst, made in comphance with Sec. 2 of Act No. 167, of the lawa of 1873, we make the following abstract : Whole No. of prisoners roceived at jail during year, 280 No. of males, 274 No. of feinales, 6 No. of females under 18 years of age, 9 No. of malea charged with high crimes, 3 No. of males charged with minor offenses, 271 " females " " " 6 No. under 18 years of age charged with minor offeuses, 9 No. detained in jail as debtors, 1 No. of Insane persons coufined in jail, 1 No. of prisoners convicted and sent to State prison, 4 No. of prisoners convicted and sent to House of Correction, 22 No. of prisoners convicted and sent to Reform School, 2 No. insane soldiers or marines connned and trnnsferred to Insane Asylum, 1 No. of prisoners who could not read, 25 " " " " write, 25 NATITITT OF PEISONKBS.
