A fatal affray occurrod in the streets of New Orleana on S-iturday, December 26, between ex Gov. H. C. Warmoth and Daniel C. Byerly, of the Bulletin, iu whioh the latter received sevoral cuta from a knife in the hand of Waimoth, rooulüng in bis death in a few houra. The difíiculty grew out of a newipaper coiitroverhy abont the mixodecbools question. Tha BuUetin bad attacked Gov Warmotb, who retaliated iu kind. He published a card in tbe l'icayune of the 26 :h, in tvIiíoJi he cliaraoterized Edward S. Jenett, the cbiof editor of the Jiu'MUn, as the greatcBt ot liara and cowarde, and as btirg liossessefl of most attributea whicb are geaeraily considered obiectionable in k man, and Byerly was inferentially inoluded in the charge of lying.
