The Bar ol Iiigham County gave a supper on Friday evening last, at the Donnelly House, in Mason, in honor of Judge Crane who was holding hls last term of court in that couuty. Brief after supper speeches were made by Messrs. Huntington, Montgoniery, Sanford, and Kilbounie, of lngham; and by Messrs. Shuw. of Eaton; (ïibsou, of Jackgon ; and ljeakes,of this city, and in response Judge Craue Rpoke briefly, conciuding : " IF in the discharge of my official duties I have merited the kinduess and good feeling that has been manifested here to-mght and throughout my admimstratiou, I eau ouly say I am glad of it. i A good name is a heritage that 1 shall be proud to leave for my childreu to reineinber." The followiug resol utious, offered by Judge Huntington, Judge Crade's successor, wore uuanimously adopted : Resolved, That we, the menibeis of the bar of lngham Couuty, take thia occasion to expresa our good wishes toward the Hou. Alex D. Crane, upou nis near relireiueut trom the bench ; and we hereby tender our warm regard toward him as a man and our full appreciation of his iutegrity and ability as a judge. Resolved, That we shiitl always remember with pleasure his courtesy aud kindness, and we tender our earnest wislies for his happineds and prosperity in future. We came near omittiug the happiest incident of the meeting: the presentation to Judge Crane, beiore the supper, of a beautiful Silver Tea Set of six pieces. The presentation speech was made by Hou. M. M. Atwood, and Judge Crane, after recovery f rom his surprise, teelingly responded. - It may b9 of local interest to say that in Judge Craue's closing (after supper) remarks, he ia reported as saying : " As a practising lawyer aud preaiding judge, nothiug had pleiised him more than to nee the fraternal feeling existing betweeu the attorueys. A techuiual lawyer might demurtothe " improving " clause, but beiug ouly an editor we let it pass.
