This State is still in the bondage of slavery. The Republican voters have not yet got their eyea open to the need of a chango, are still blind to the revoIutioii9 going on around them. Thu Republican cominittees and organs duim a majorityfor Hayes and Wheeler of over 25,000. Eight of the nine incinbers of Congre9a, twenty-three of the tliirty-two members of the Senate, and seventy-four of the one hundied inembere of the House. This largo majority in the Legislature, probably argües the ro-election of Ferry to the Senitte, Govt Bagley having been " scooped' in the nominations made for Senators and Representa ti ves. And thia is all we have to say of the result in this State just now. " A short norse is soon curried." " The returning board docides the eleotion in Louisiana." That was the seutence whioh elosed a New Orleans news dispatch, date Nov. 9, 10:30 A. M. They were very innocent but very signifioant words,- fit words to follow the proceding: "The Republicana claim that when the river couuties are heard frora thoy will have 10,000 majority." They also admirably illuuiinate - the declaration a well-authenticated report credits Zaek Chandler with raaking a week before election : " If the result shall depend on South Caroliua, Florida, and Louisiana, Hayes will be elected, we have the means to carry those Statt." "Themeans:" United States Marshals, corrupt as the very demons ; United States Custom-house and other agents, mere tools of the administration ; a degraded military, degraded by being cotnpelled to do dirtier work than belongs to army officers and soldiers ; and last, but not least, " the retvrning boards." Ah Sin never had his sleeve better stuffed with aces than Zack Chandler and his coramittee. The " rebel " cry failed in the First Cougressional district, and that noble old soldier Gen, Williams is re-elocted by a mjority of over 1,900. In this district John J. Robison is boaten by over 2,000 mujority. This county and Monroe did well by him, but in Lenaweo and Hillsdale the intelligent voters were afraid that he would vote to re-establish slavery, aud they buried him. Well, John it is better to be on the right side thun to go to Cuugross, and you can foei a just prido ia the verdict of your ijuiuediate fricnds aud noighbors. WHEN Harriinan was nominated for Judge of Probate, certain Republicana who nouldu't forgive him for changing his politics several years ago, joined witti certain Demócrata who imagiued that iiis uominatiou had worked against thoir intere8t8 or imaginary claims, aud prodioted lustily and long that he would be the worst beateu man on the Democratie tioket, iu fact that he would be worse beaten than any rattn who ever ran for a oounty office on the Domooratic ticket. Tho tigures in another column boar sulHcirnt testimony to botb the fore-knowledgo and iniluence of these uien. THE VOÏK of Mouday was vory large throughout the State,- probably the largobt Vör polled.
