Tlie report recently forwarded by Comptroller Kelly, of New York, to the Legislatura, classiñes and adds np the I debt of that city as follows: Bonded debt $119,681,313 Temporiiry ilebt 22,371,000 Ufvcime bonds 6,104,844 To which should be added: Westchester couuty bonds, for which the city is Hable $ 1,250,000 Total $140,357,657 DedUOÜQg Kinking-iund bonln 28,179,102 $121,208,455 Add obligations ifitraed in Jannary 2,612,508 Add valid claims in litigation, about 10,000,000 Net actual indebtednesa $133,820,963 The sinking-fund bonds draw interest, ,nid the interest-bearing debt, as far as present necessities of taxation are concerned, must therefore be put at bout #150,000,000. The aggregate amount of annual interest payable on the city debt is Bbout $9,000,000. Not less than $11,700,000 of assessments remain unpaid. The gambling fraternity are somewhat troubled about the strange apparition, which they think is not according to Iloyle.
