We also extend an invitation to all our friends of the order, who believe with us in the power of moral suasion to work reform in the temperance cause, and that argumenta addressed to the judgment and consciences of men are more powerful for good than legal coerción, aud that the reform movement should possess a strictly non-political and nonsectarian character, to meet with us at the time and place for the purposes aforesaid. All newspapers in the State are invited to publish the foregoing cali. C. W. WISNBR, President of the East Saginaw Reform Club; J. W. FITZMAURICE, S. W. BLISS, C. A. HOLMES, Committeo. The L'Anse News does not extend a rery oordial hand to the legislatura who expect to visit the Northern Península in the slimmer. It says : "They will ceme up here and steal specimeus, knook pieoua of iron ore down trom Norway pines, and gil their bellies full of white fish - whieh, let us hope, will genérate braina enough in aome portion of their human forma divine to gire thein an understanding of the wants of this region, then go back home to deliver lectures to crowds of open mouthed, unkempt, dirty faced swine herders, upon the wonders of an unknown world. But come on, gentlemen, come on !" If Paokard haa succeeded in making Hayes hesitate, he has triumphed, and that ia all there is to be said about it. Grant left matters go that bis successor had but to give the word, and the problem was solved. To hesitate, to haggle, to compromiso - that is the end of all hope from this administration, and fair iiotioe to the country that it must try again. - Botton Post. Joe T.
