Bibbons are worn everywhere, even tied on the ears. Both box and side pleatings still retniu favor, but they are now placed upon skirts in such a way that f ringes and loons may be mtennixed with excellent effect. Old gold, a shade of yellow bordering on bronze, is generally mixed witli light pink, light blue and shades of yellow. Maroon is a favorite shade, used witli light green or soft pink; it is very effective in satin. White is more used than colors for evening dresses; white satin witli white chambery gauze, white silk and white crepé de chine; next to tliis black has become very fashionable. A recent ball dress of black satin covered with scarfs of lace embroidered in gold-floss iiowers, and another in black with the overdress sparkling with fine cut jet, were both finislied by the addition of the long undressed kid glove reaching almost to the elbow, and laced inside the arm to give it the close fit requisite.
