" My darling," he answered, passing his hand gently round her dimpled chin, "Iwill always love you. Do you think I would marry you if I did not feel sure of it. Tn a few dnys, at the altar I shall vow to loyo you all niy life, and I will keep my vow. " A lovely kind of beatirïc happiness played for a moment liko snnshine on her lips, and then she whispered, "Oh, George, I like to hear you talk liko that ; you have been so good to me. You have given me a diamond locket, and a gold watch and chain, and rings that au angel might wcar outside her gloves and not be ashamed, and if L thought that one, day you'd be sorry you'd given me alj these nico things and want them back again, I should break my hoart." He held her gently against his maiily breast, and answered with a quivering voice : ' ' Oh, my own daiiing, therc is nothing on eartli that eould happen that wonld make me repent giving you a few tokens of my love or make me want them back again." She sprung from his arms like a jpyoilB deer, she shook back her suimy eurls, and, with a whole poem in her bazel eyes, exclaimed : " Oh, Georgc, you have taken a load í'rom my heart. l'vo come to say I can't marry you after all, because l'vo seen somebody I like botter, and I thought you'd want your presente back again.
