not very brisk, and buyers do notseem anxious to take in large quantities at the going prices, the newa from the east not being the most favorable. Up to this date the purchases aggregate ia the neighborhood of 170,000 lbs., divided as follows : Maok &Schmid, 70,000 lbs ; Bach, Abel & Donovan, 55,000 lbs. ; August Herz, 15,000 lbs. ; and strangers, who have now gone out of the market, 30,000 lbs. Yesterday buyers were offring lor fine wöols, well waahed and in good order, 36a39 oenta ; uuwashed fleeces commanded lower prioes ; and for long or oombing wools higher figures were paid. - In this connection we are sorry to say that buyers from abroad report the wool of this county oí' a lower grade than in other counties - more heavy aud greasy fleeces, and the washing and putting up for market not so well done. Growers of good wools are suffaring from this reputation given the wools of this county. The Cirouit Court disposed of tbe jury cases on Tuesday last, diacharged the jury, and adjourned 'uutil 9 o'clock a. m. yesterday, at which time the University or Laboratory deficit case was taken up, Judge Huutington presiding, he having been unable to secure another Judge to hold nis term tor Mm. The time of tho court yesterday was occupied in hearing an application by defeudant Kose for a jury. In addition to local counsel, E. A. Storm, of Chicago, of Babcock trial fame, was present and participated in the argument in bchalf of Dr. Rose. Ashley Pond, of Detroit, with Judge Dougliis, have charge of the interests of Dr. Douglas. The application for a jury was denied for tho present, and the trial is in progress.
