the Board of Regents, held on Thursday evening last, was au important oue, in the action taken and probably in the íuture resulta. The annual dues of students were increased ïó and the diploma fee trom f5 to $10. This to increaee receipta. To reduce expenses the following instructora were dispensed with : Me8ars. Ö. N. Jones, A. Hennequin, A. V. E. Young, Henry B. Paraons, B. W. Corwin, and Miss Louise M. Reed. The work of these aasistants is be thrown upon other professors aud assistants. A motion to reduce all salaries over {1,500 ten per cent was lost. - Judge Oooley, dean of the Law Faculty has filed a vigorous protest against the increase of the fees of law studente - -the dopartment being self-supporting - in order to meet the increased expenses of the Medical Department. It has seemed to us that the Medical Department was getting the big end of the loaf, and that a saving might be made in that department by discontinuing the separate course of lectures to ladies.
