Mr. Samuel Warren, whose deatli was rocen tly announced by cable, 'was the autlior of " Ten Thousand a Year" an J " Tho Diary of a Physician." His other literary works are not widely known. He was bom in Wales in May, 1807, and henee was 70 years of age at the time of his death. He studied medicine at Edinburgh, not for the purpose of bécoming a physician, but because it was his belief, frequentlj emphasized in after life, that the studies emloraced in the curricula of medical schools should form a part of every liberal education. In 1828 he entered himself as a law student of the Inner Temple, London, and in 1837 was ealled to the bar. 4 .
