- ■ The work oL conveitiug the building Iately occupied by Prof. Friezo, on tha south side of the Uuiversity campus, iuto a Dental College, is nearly completed. On the ñrst floor is to be fouud three rooms, the lecture room, faculty room, and patients' room, whilo in the wing on the west side 13 loeated the laboratory, which is supplied with all neeessary equipments for its purposea. The entire upper story of the building is oecupied by the optratiug room. It is a pleasant and well-lighted room, having in oddition to the H large Windows a large glass domein the centre of the roof, and is supplied, at present, with 16 dental chairs. Dr. Tart, who is acquainted with nearly all dental colloges in the country, pronounces this building the best arranged of all. - The Junior clasa eleoted officers 011 Friday the 28th. The result was as followe: President, H. C. Post : Vice-President, E. P. Anderson ; Seeretary, Mark Norris ; Assistant, Krank Coo ; Uhaplain, H. W. Ashley: Assistant, W. H. Butts; Orator, N. McMellan ; Seer, F. D. Mead; Poet, E. A. Christian; Historian, ü. F. Barnes ; Marshal, I. K. Pond ; Piodigal Son, E. W. Jenuey ; Toastmaster, J. A. Beaumont ; Foot Ball Captain, F. P. Jordan. In the evening the offtcers adjourued to Hangsterfer's and "set it up " to themselves. - Th o several professioual schools of the University opened on Mouday with a large increase in the number of students in each departmeut of those of last year. The following 18 the number of entries up to Wednesday evening, together vith a comparisou with those of the correspondí 113 date of last year : ,, .. , 1877. 1876. The uumber oí students in the department will be in excess of laat year. - Frof. A'hims has arranged his programme f Dr lectures as follows : Mondaya and Thursdays at 2 p. m. on "The Growth of Iustitutions in the Middle Ages." Wednesdays, at i p. m., on " The English G-overument." Fridays, at i p. m., ou "The Eise of Prussia." - The opening lectura in the law department was delivered by Jtulgo Cooley, on Mouday.
